Rice Purleau

Serves 12

Ingredients:

7 cans (10 oz each) low-sodium chicken broth
1 lb Italian sausage, cut in bite sized pieces
1 large onion, quartered
1 tsp sage
1 tsp pepper
4 cups Carolina® White Rice
pinch red pepper, optional


Directions:

In a large stockpot, heat broth to a gentle boil. Add remaining ingredients to broth. Return mixture to a gentle boil, cover pot and turn heat down on low. Simmer until all broth is absorbed (about 20 - 25 minutes).
