Aromatic Rice

Brown or white rice with a natural aroma and flavor similar to that of roasted nuts or popcorn. Various types grown; cooks dry and separate or moist and tender.

Brown rice, a 100 percent whole grain food, joins the recognized ranks of healthful whole grains, according to a recent announcement  from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that will allow brown rice food labels to bear the whole grain health claim. Cooking Rice in a Pressure Cooker

White Rice
 
1 cup rice
1 1/2 cup water
Add rice and water to pressure cooker (used 2 1/2 qt bowl inside to hold rice/water)
Bring to pressure
Add weight to top of pressure cooker when vent valve closes
Cook at pressure for 8 minutes
Remove from burner when time reached and cool pressure cooker
Once vent valve releases all to set additional 5 minutes.
Remove lid, fluff rice, serve

Brown Rice
 
1 cup rice
1 3/4 cup water
Add rice and water to pressure cooker (used 2 1/2 qt bowl inside to hold rice/water)
Bring to pressure
Add weight to top of pressure cooker when vent valve closes
Cook at pressure for 18 minutes
Remove from burner when time reached and cool pressure cooker
Once vent valve releases all to set additional 5 minutes.
Remove lid, fluff rice, serve

Basmati Rice
 
1 cup rice
1 1/2 cup water
Add rice and water to pressure cooker (used 2 1/2 qt bowl inside to hold rice/water)
Bring to pressure

Cook at pressure for 8 minutes

Jasmine Rice
 
1 cup rice
1 1/4 cup water
Add rice and water to pressure cooker (used 2 1/2 qt bowl inside to hold rice/water)
Bring to pressure

Cook at pressure for 8 minutes

Wild Rice

1 cup rice
1 1/4 cup water
Add rice and water to pressure cooker (used 2 1/2 qt bowl inside to hold rice/water)
Bring to pressure
Add weight to top of pressure cooker when vent valve closes
Cook at pressure for 25 minutes
Remove from burner when time reached and cool pressure cooker
Once vent valve releases all to set additional 5 minutes.
Remove lid, fluff rice, serve
